Description
Before you can properly develop plans or specifications for the rehabilitation of concrete surfaces it is imperative to understand any underlying issues in the concrete that will affect the long-term success of the project. This includes assessing reinforcing steel cover, pH, sulfate and other contamination depth, chloride levels and general health of the concrete. A proper condition assessment eliminates the unknowns and protects the owner from undue or excessive change orders that affect schedule and budget. This presentation addresses the various critical data points as well as the importance and value of a proper condition assessment.
