Description
As part of the Ontario Government’s Skills Development Fund, Concrete Ontario has received funding to create standardized training materials for Professional Ready-Mixed Drivers (PRDs) across the province.
This program includes:
- A 100-page training manual
- Training videos
- PowerPoint presentations
These resources will help concrete producers deliver consistent, high-quality training for new drivers supporting Ontario’s critical infrastructure.
The initiative also recognizes the educational efforts of PRDs and promotes the profession to women, youth, and Indigenous peoples, helping to broaden and strengthen the industry’s workforce.

Bart Kanters is a professional engineer with over 32 years of experience in the construction industry and is the President of the Ready Mixed Concrete Association of Ontario. Bart has spent the past 26 years with the concrete association and is an instructor for all the associations training and educational courses. Bart is also involved in many CSA technical standards as a voting member representing concrete producers.
