This session will describe how Skills Ontario is helping to address the Skills Gap and literally changing people’s lives for the better in the process. Through interactive, hands-on competitions, activities, workshops and inspirational speakers and mentors, Skills Ontario works with a wide range of stakeholders to inspire the next generation of Skilled Trades & Tech leaders.

Paul Clipsham, Director of Stakeholder Relations, Skills Ontario
Paul Clipsham is Director of Stakeholder Relations with Skills Ontario – a not for profit organization that inspires youth to pursue careers Skilled Trades and Technologies. In addition to stakeholder outreach and engagement, Paul leads communications and partnership development activities for the organization. He works closely with corporate sponsors, government, education partners and other stakeholders to achieve a common objective of addressing the skills gap by promoting rewarding careers in skilled trades and technologies. Prior to joining Skills Ontario in 2018, Paul spent 16 years in progressive leadership roles with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) where he successfully developed and lead high impact programs and advocacy campaigns related to regulatory burden reduction, energy management, accessibility and addressing skills shortages. Paul has been Co-Chair of the Thursday Group (A Group of industry associations with common Policy Interests) and represented manufacturers on a number of advisory boards and forums including the Ontario Government (eg. accessibility), Hydro One (Customer Advisory) and the Independent Electricity System Operator. Paul is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has a post graduate diploma in International Business Management from Niagara College of Applied Arts & Technologies.
