This session will:
- Share insights OGCA’s Pathways to ICI Team gathered through industry surveys, focus groups and 1:1 interviews;
- Introduce and discuss the concept of “Make Space”; and
- Have an open dialogue around an uncomfortable subject matter – reflecting, identifying and challenging how our biases can either help or hinder an individual’s career progression.
Asking ourselves why we “Make Space” for some and not for others. - Practice a simple action that you can start doing at work to see immediate impact.

Over the past 20 years Khoa has built her experience in the environmental, development and construction industries for both public and private sectors. Performing in wide-ranging progressive roles, essentially it all boils down to working effectively and respectfully with people. Currently, as Director, Programs at the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA), Khoa collaborates with a multitude of stakeholders, government agencies, community partners and industry professionals to develop and implement strategies, tools and programs to address employment shortages with a focus on skills development and training for recruitment, retention, capacity building and growth management for the ICI construction sector.
