Critical Steps to Ensuring Durable Exterior Concrete Flatwork

Concrete remains the second most used material in the world, after only water, and performs critical roles in both infrastructure and ICI sector projects. While concrete is synonymous with “durability”, achieving long-term durability in our harsh Canadian weather conditions can be a challenge. By looking at both the optimum and “less than ideal” real-life scenarios that we experience in Canada, this presentation will identify the important design, production, construction and finishing issues that must be addressed to achieve the long-term durability that owners expect from this material.
