Rachel Prestayko
Rachel Prestayko, Associate Lawyer, Kennaley Construction Law
Rachel Prestayko is an Associate Lawyer at Kennaley Construction Law practicing exclusively in the area of construction law. Rachel works with a variety of clients, ranging from owners, contractors, subcontractors and all manner of design professionals and consultants, including architects and engineers. Rachel has represented corporations and individuals in all types of construction disputes, and, in addition to traditional lien and litigation claims, is experienced with adjudications under the Construction Act and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including negotiation, arbitration, and mediation. Rachel previously worked at leading multinational and regional law firms, focusing on commercial litigation. Prior to law, Rachel worked as a Research Associate in the tech sphere, is a published co-author in the journal Nanotechnology a co-inventor on five registered patents. She earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa and B.Sc. in Honours Chemistry from McMaster. Rachel is a member of a number of construction and law associations, is an avid curler and enjoys the latest issue of the Walrus when not spending time with friends and family.
Paige Crewson

Paige Crewson is a construction lawyer with over twenty years experience and an undergraduate degree in architecture and building science.  She has lived and worked in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, and has advised on major projects and disputes around the globe, often in the context of public private partnerships and other project-finance structures. With both a technical and legal understanding of the issues that arise in construction, Paige can communicate difficult concepts using readily understood language and illustrative examples. She is able to help participants place legal concepts into the reality of their daily work.
Jeff Scorgie
Jeff Scorgie, Partner, WeirFoulds LLP
Jeff Scorgie has a practice that focuses on drafting and negotiating contracts and advising on other “front end” aspects of construction projects. Jeff assists his clients in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and providing advice throughout the course of a project as disputes or issues arise. Jeff has experience reviewing, negotiating and drafting all manner of construction contracts including design-build, construction management, EPC, development, consulting and supply agreements. Jeff has significant experience working with bespoke and industry standard form contracts (including CCDC, OPSS, CCA, ACEC, MEA/ACEC, RAIC and OAA contracts). Jeff also routinely provides strategic advice on procurement, tendering and project structuring. His clients include public and private owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project managers. Jeff gives back to the construction industry by providing his knowledge and insight at conferences, webinars and other educational opportunities. Jeff co-chairs the popular webinar series “Tools for Success”, which is focused on practical insights and tips for those in the construction industry. He previously served as an instructor of the “Law and Construction Contracts” course at the School of Construction Management and Trades / School of Architectural Studies at George Brown College.
