Duration: 50 minutes

Description

The concrete sector is at the center of one of today’s most urgent transitions: reducing embodied carbon while ensuring resilient, domestic supply of critical building materials. This presentation will explore how the industry can overcome the challenges of decarbonization and market acceptance, highlighting opportunities to accelerate demand for low-carbon cement and concrete through specifications, procurement, and collaboration across the value chain. Drawing on lessons learned from successful projects, we will discuss what’s working, what’s not, and how aligning owners, designers, producers, and policymakers can unlock scalable, low-carbon solutions that strengthen both sustainability outcomes and material security in an evolving political and economic climate.
